A very short blog-watch this week to point you in the direction of a good introduction to the Turkish Get-up.
I’ve been toying with introducing this exercise into my workout for a while. It is a fantastic all-body compound movement and should particularly help me with shoulder stability which I’ve struggled with in the past. I had considered introducing it during my cutting phase, but decided against it to avoid the possible side-effect of my traps getting even bigger than they were already.
Instead I’m going to try and incorporate it into my post-holiday workouts. I’ll let you know how that goes!
If you want to read a simple step-by-step tutorial on the Turkish Get-up, then there’s a handy explanation on Testosterone Nation.
Also, to supplement the Steve Cotter tutorial video that is linked on Richard’s blog post, I’ve also found this corrections video useful for helping iron out those problem areas.
