The links stored away in my favourites folder continue to be whittled away with links posts. Here’s another ten to keep you entertained over the weekend.
- Shannon Clark has some common sense summarised as 5 weight training facts women must know to look and feel better.
- If the dubious health claims on some processed foods bother you then you might enjoy reading this heated email about the health claims on various cereal products in the US.
- Mistress Krista at Stumptuous has a skill for spotting the strange and perverse in the local, national and worldwide media. I nearly fell off my chair though when I read about the Chilean weightlifter who gave birth during a training session.
- Returning to an old theme, here’s a study brought to my attention by Conditioning Research that concluded that sleep duration is linked to obesity.
- As well as all the walking, cycling, climbing and lifting of heavy things, I like to try my hand at freediving whenever I get to warmer climates (about once every other year) so I was interested to belatedly discover that the freediving record has been pushed to new limits.
- Butter or margarine? For me it is butter every time on the basis that it tastes better and it’s natural. Next time someone tells you that butter is bad for you and you should use margarine, get them to read the butter vs. margarine showdown!
- Here are some really useful things to do with non-paleo foodstuffs that I no longer eat. Who knew that peanut butter removes water stains from furniture or that mayonnaise made good furniture polish?
- Do you want to increase the number of push ups you can do? Terry Stokes, the figure coach, has some good advice.
- I love animal photos and this series of photos of a cat failing in its duty to catch mice had me giggling.
- Precision Nutrition ran an interesting interview with Pam Boteler, a sprint canoeist and raw vegan advocate, about her diet and training.
- If you liked Stormtroopers 365 then you’ll most likely also enjoy Duel 365. A year of the craziest pairings of superheroes and supervillans (amongst others) you have ever seen. Perhaps not as endearing as Stormtroopers 365, but entertaining nonetheless.
I hope you enjoy these.
