Regular readers of this blog will be aware that I have an enormous amount of time and respect for Robb Wolf. He has a great wealth of knowledge about diet and training which he has gathered together from his years of training as a biochemist and also from his equally important years of experience in applying his knowledge and ideas on both himself and those he trains.
The thing I really appreciate about Robb is the way he manages to share this knowledge, often through his blog, in an enthusiastic and understandable way, even for those who come to his site with limited prior knowledge. I’m certainly looking forward to the release of his book this autumn, which he explained during a recent podcast is being aimed at an introductory level and should therefore make a good quick-reference book for the shelf.
Recently, Robb and Andy Deas started doing a podcast, The Paleolithic Solution, which has just reached its twentieth episode.
Andy and Robb have a great rapport with each other and I find the podcasts are not only educational to listen to, but also incredibly entertaining. In fact, they provide such good entertainment that I’ve taken to setting up the laptop on the passenger seat when I’m going on longer drives so that I can listen to downloaded podcasts while I travel (I don’t recommend this, and I’ll probably get in trouble one day, but I don’t own an mp3 player and I do pull over to change recordings).
I fully recommend that you take the time to download all of them (while there still aren’t too many hours to get through) and listen to them all. But if you are tight for time, I especially recommend parts of the following episodes as good starting points for some women-specific advice on the menstrual cycle, fertility, paleo diet and pregnancy, bulking as a woman and the menopause:
- Episode 7 – Contraceptive pill and menstrual cycle
- Episode 8 – Fertility
- Episode 11 – Paleo pregnancy
- Episode 12 – Bulking as a woman
- Episode 14 – Menstrual cycles
- Episode 15 – Menopause
For more details about the questions asked (and often what point on the podcast to jump to for the answer), each podcast comes with associated show notes attached to the same blog post.
Happy listening!
